Scanned files can be saved in tiff, jpg or png formats. Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected to the computer.
Step 1:Open the scanner cover.
Step 2:Place the document to be scanned face down on the scanner bed, its edges touching the top left hand border of the scanning bed.
Step 3:Flip down the scanner lid.
Step 4:Navigate to All Programs, HP, HP Laserjet Professional M1136 MFP series, and click the 'Scan To' Icon.
Step 5:In the Panel that opens, click 'Settings'.
Step 6:Click The 'File' Tab.
Step 7:Check the option 'Specify the full output file name'
Step 8:Click the 'browse' button.
Browse to a location and type in the full file name.
Select file type.
We choose 'Tiff Compressed'.
Click 'Save'.
Click the 'Scan' tab.
Ensure that the 'Show the TWAIN Dialogue' option is checked.
Click OK
Step 9:Click scan.
If asked to select the source, choose HP Laserjet M1136 MFP TWAIN.
Step 10:Once the preview appears, use the mouse cursor to resize the area to be scanned by dragging the borders.
Click the Lighten/Darken tab.
Step 11:Use the brightness slider to adjust the brightness. We increase it Slightly.
Step 12:Use the contrast slider to adjust the contrast.
Click the Resolution Tab.
Change the resolution to a higher one. We chose 600 dpi.
Step 13:Once the preview looks right, click 'Accept'.
The scanner scans at the higher resolution.
You may be asked if you wish to scan another page.
We select 'No'.
Windows explorer opens the location where the file is saved.
