Jun 26, 2015 I have had 3 ibanez tube screamers over the years (80's, 90's, 2010's) and they were all terrible and not cheap. The JHS-808 finally gets it right. JHS Pedals was founded by Joshua Heath Scott in Jackson, Mississippi. He began by repairing and modifying his own pedals.[2]
Sweet Tea Brands
In 2007 Scott began selling modified Boss BD-2s and other modified Boss pedals at Fondren Guitars in Jackson, Mississippi. Soon after, he began to develop his own circuits including the Morning Glory overdrive and the Pulp N Peel compressor.[3][4] In 2009 Scott moved the company to Kansas City, Missouri, eventually expanding to 10 employees.[3] JHS released the Panther analog delay in 2011 and also the SuperBolt overdrive and Prestige booster/buffer/enhancer in 2012.[5]
Scott was interviewed by Worship Leader magazine in April 2012,[6] as well as in a builder profile for Premier Guitar in September 2013.[3] Guitarists such as Drew Shirley[7] and Jon Foreman[8] of Switchfoot use JHS Pedals.
In 2015 JHS collaborated with Keeley Electronics to produce a combined compressor and overdrive pedal.[9]

In 2019, JHS severed ties with Ryan Adams and stopped production of his signature pedal, the VCR, after Adams was accused of sexual misconduct. JHS announced they would be rebranding the remaining pedals and using the proceeds to support work against sexual abuse and assault. [10]
Products[edit]
JHS manufactures and sells pedals with a variety of effects, including overdrive,[11]distortion, compression, fuzz, boost, tremolo, delay, and others. The models are given distinctive names, such as 'Angry Charlie', “Moonshine”, “Double Barrel”, 'Pollinator'[12] 'Colour Box'[13] and 'Lime Aid'.
JHS also operates a custom shop where customers can design their own artwork to be put on a case for a standard JHS Pedal.[3]Pioneer vsx 1020 k user manual.
International House of Prayer Controversy[edit]
During the earlier stages of the company, Josh Scott and JHS were partnered with International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOPKC), where IHOPKC's graphic and design teams would help with JHS promotional content. Josh denied this, but said he did personally volunteer his time and money to cultivate musicianship within the church[14].Josh was for quite some time, 'worship leader' at the church and was quoted in the Evangelical Christian press of being quite enthusiastic about that role.Scott was a member of the church from 2010 to 2013, during the same time where multiple stories were being published criticizing IHOPKC's involvement in anti-LGBTQ causes, including sponsoring mission trips in Uganda that were in support of anti-gay legislation with the country[15].
When the news of Scotts's involvement got to popular music forums like The Gear Page, there were many calls to boycott JHS pedals. Soon after this, Scott and JHS pedals distanced themselves from the church[16].
